This privacy policy is for Tech4Good South West CIC and the website tech4goodsw.org.uk.  It applies to all users of this website and members of the Tech4Good South West network.  This website is managed by Tech4Good South West CIC, company number 15411048 of 2 Beech View, Bath BA2 6DX.

In this notice we explain how we processes, store and protects user data.

What information do we collect from you?

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Signing up to our newsletter or submitting a request via our contact form

  • Contacting us directly via email

  • Becoming a member of our network

  • Joining our Tech4Good South West LinkedIn group

  • Following us on social media

  • Joining in-person or online events

We use the information that you have given us in order to manage and communicate with our members and wider community.

Contacting Tech4Good South West

Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics including name and contact details are captured if you contact us.

Information about event attendees

We run both in person and online events.  For each event we will have a sign up process managed via Eventbrite.  We may use different online sign up platforms depending on the type of event, for each event we will make it clear what personal data we need to collect and how it will be stored.

Newsletter subscription

If you subscribe via our newsletter sign up form, we collect your email address only. This information is captured via squarespace.com. Squarespace.com host our website and manage our email campaigns.

Who might we share your information with?

We will not share your name or email address with anyone unless we have asked for your permission to do so.  For example you may contact us with a question which leads us to suggest we connect you with a person or organisation in our network, in this circumstance we would ask your permission first before sharing your information.

How long do we keep hold of your information?

Your information is securely stored. As Tech4Good South West is a network of active participants once you have shared your data we will keep it for the duration of the Tech4Good South West initiative.  If you would like us to remove your data you can request that we do so by contacting: hello@tech4goodsouthwest.org

Information about website visitors

We collect information from our website visitors through our Squarespace analytics which is anonymous, meaning you cannot be personally identified from this data.

This information includes:

  • The type of web browser you use

  • Your language preference

  • Referral information - this means information about which site you came from when you visited our site.

  • The date of your visit

  • How long you spent on the site

  • Which pages you visited

We may aggregate some of the information we collect on our website visitors and event attendees to track and understand how people are interacting with us.  This enables us to focus on content which our users find engaging and make necessary updates if we find parts of our approach are difficult or challenging for users.

We use this aggregated data internally and we may share it with third parties (ie. other people or organisations supporting the network) to inform our branding, marketing or website approach.  This information does not include any personal or sensitive data.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores about a website visitors computer.  When a user visits our website if the cookies are enabled their computer browser provides information to the website tech4goodsouthwest.org

We use cookies to track how visitors use our website and what their preferences our to improve how our users engage with our site.

Our website is built using Squarespace platform. We use Squarespace analytics feature to track visitor usage. This does not store, save or collect personal information.

We endeavour to use external website links which are safe and secure however we advise you access these links with caution as we are not responsible for the quality of external links.  Therefore you access these links at your own risk. Social media platforms 

We will never ask for personal or sensitive information via our social media channels.  We recommend that if you wish to discuss a matter which is personal or sensitive you communicate via email or phone.

We may retweet interesting or relevant tweets from your Twitter feed but we will not intentionally retweet offensive tweets or tweets containing sensitive or personal data.  

Sometimes we may tweet links to other websites and resources via our twitter feed.  Often we use shortened links which start like this: loom.ly/…  We advise you access these links with caution as we are not responsible for the quality of external links.  Therefore you access these links at your own risk. These links may be to other websites or online resources which are relevant to our content.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.

Complaints policy.

Tech4Good SouthWest sets out to provide excellent services for our members, partners and other stakeholders, e.g., event attendees, sponsors, funders, etc..

 The Tech4Good SouthWest Team takes all complaints seriously and we encourage anyone who is unhappy with our services to provide informal feedback or to make a formal complaint. 

All feedback and complaints will be handled confidentiality and respectfully by the Team.

Making a Complaint  

When making a complaint, please email the Tech4GoodSouthWest Team at: hello@tech4goodsouthwest.org and provide the following information:

3. A description of the complaint, including, e.g., dates and times; names of people involved, etc.  

4.     Any background documentation (Copies).
 

Note: If the complaint is made verbally, a member of the team will take notes and then email a copy to the complainant for agreement.

Feedback / Action Taken 

All complaints will be logged by the Tech4Good SouthWest Team.

You will receive written feedback about the outcome of the investigation into the complaint within 10 working days; including any action taken and how we may make changes to our services in the future,
